Overview

ShipBob return grading for refunds

Connect ShipBob to Lumtry with the Warehouse Sync add-on and the warehouse scan becomes the proof of return. When every item on a return is received, Lumtry releases the refund or sends it to inspection, grades each item from the warehouse outcome, and leaves quarantined items for a person to decide.

Overview

What it does

  • Marks a return received once every item has arrived at the warehouse, then releases the refund or moves it to inspection.
  • Grades each item from the warehouse outcome: restocked counts as new, disposed or missing counts as unusable.
  • Gives your policy stock on hand and the latest warehouse disposition, when a rule asks for them.

Setup

Set it up

  1. Add Warehouse Sync

Warehouse Sync is an add-on on Starter and Growth and included on Scale. It is not available on Free.

  2. Create a ShipBob token

In ShipBob, open Integrations, then API Tokens, and create a personal access token.

  3. Connect ShipBob

An Owner or Admin pastes the token in the Warehouse section of the Integrations page. Lumtry registers its return notifications and ShipBob issues the signing secret.

  4. Choose grade confirmation

Turn on Require confirmation for warehouse grades if a teammate should confirm each grade before it counts. It is off by default.

Data

What Lumtry reads

  • Signed return events: arrived, completed, and each item's received quantity and restock, dispose or quarantine action.
  • Stock on hand by SKU, only when your published policy uses a warehouse field.
  • The store order reference on each return, to match it to a case waiting for its return.

What Lumtry writes

  • Its return notification subscription, created when you connect and removed when you disconnect.
  • Nothing else. Lumtry never creates returns, orders or inventory changes in ShipBob.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does Warehouse Sync cost?

$79 a month on Starter or Growth, included on Scale, and not available on Free. If the add-on lapses, the connection pauses: events are still verified and recorded but no longer change cases.

Does a warehouse grade overwrite a teammate's grade?

No. A grade a person already set is never overwritten, and quarantined or unknown outcomes always wait for a person.

What about a return that arrives in parts?

Nothing is final until every item is received. A partial delivery never releases a refund on its own.

How does Lumtry verify ShipBob events?

ShipBob signs every event with the secret it issued when you connected. Lumtry checks the signature and a five minute timestamp window before it records anything, and drops redeliveries.
