Lumtry can take Amazon return and refund notifications into the same case queue as your store, decide each one under your versioned policy and send exceptions to a person. The connection is set up with the Lumtry team today, not self-serve, and Lumtry never writes back to your Amazon account.

## What it does

- Turns Amazon return and refund request notifications into refund cases in your Lumtry queue.
- Decides each case with your published policy, or with a policy version you scope to Amazon cases only.
- Adds order status from Amazon to the case, so your rules can see whether the order shipped.

## Set it up

1. **Create your workspace**: Sign up and create a Lumtry workspace. Connect Stripe or PayPal if you want approved cases to execute a refund.
2. **Contact the Lumtry team**: There is no connect button for Amazon yet. The Lumtry team sets up the notification subscription with your seller and marketplace ids.
3. **Publish an Amazon policy**: Publish your default policy, or a version scoped to the Amazon channel when marketplace returns need different rules.
4. **Watch before you act**: Run Amazon cases in shadow mode first and compare the decisions with what you would have done.

## What Lumtry reads

- Return and refund request notifications, with the order id, return id, amount and currency.
- Order status for the order in the notification, read from the Amazon orders API.
- Your seller and marketplace ids, to place each notification in the right workspace.

## What Lumtry writes

- Nothing to Amazon. Lumtry does not approve returns, issue refunds or message buyers inside your Amazon account.
- The decision, the policy version it used and each step, on the case's audit record in Lumtry.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does Lumtry issue the refund on Amazon?

No. Lumtry writes nothing to Amazon. It decides the case under your policy, and an approved refund executes through the Stripe or PayPal account connected to your workspace. Store credit and exchanges wait for a person.

### Can I connect Amazon from the dashboard?

Not yet. The Amazon connection is set up by the Lumtry team today. Contact us with your seller and marketplace ids to get started.

### How does Lumtry know an Amazon notification is genuine?

Every notification arrives through Amazon's notification service and its signature is checked before anything is recorded. A notification that fails the check is rejected.

### Which signals does an Amazon case carry?

Order status is added when Amazon returns it. Amazon does not share a customer's order history or risk flags, so rules that depend on those signals do not fire for Amazon cases.
